Summer 2008 Classes for Teens and Adults
Our teen and adult classes are for all skill levels. Each session, instructors give students a new project lesson. However, more advanced students are welcome to work on their own projects. Come join our creative, fun and supportive group of potters and sculptors!
 June 3 and 17 (Tuesdays):
Asian Tea Pots with Rose Shulman and Denise Wey.
For teens and adults. In partnership with the Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra's Summer Enrichment Program, the Mud Hut invites you to handcraft your own 1-2 serving teapot.
Geared for beginners, but all skill levels welcome. Handbuild your teapot in session I (6-9 p.m.), then glaze it in session II (6-8 p.m.). Fee: $40 for 2 sessions.
June 23-27: 9-10:45 a.m.
Sculpting The Human Face & Head
with Claudia Jeffers, For teens and adults. Learn how to sculpt
the beautiful, classic figures similar to classical museum artwork. $90 for 5 sessions.
July 7-10: 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Introduction To Tile Making with Claudia Jeffers.
For teens and adults. Learn four methods of making and decorating tiles: wax resist, underglaze painting, relief and sgraffito. $75 for 4 sessions.
July 7-11: 9-10:45 a.m.
Mexican Folk Art Figures with Claudia Jeffers, For ages 8-adult. Make colorful popular art figures of people doing everyday things. Figures will be decorated with detailed, colorful underglaze painting. $90 for 5 sessions.
June 20, July 18 & Aug. 15 (3rd Fridays): 7-9 p.m
Date Night At The Mud Hut with Claudia Jeffers. Get creative with your sweetie! This fun date is cheaper than a movie and you might learn something new about each other. Projects are geared for beginners. Fee: $35 per couple per session (includes light refreshments).
