Enrolling in Classes
How to enroll — Students may reserve class space by mailing the form above (with payment) directly to our instructors, or bringing enrollment info and fee payment to the first class calling the instructor to inquire about class space. Note that class space is very limited (usually 12-15 people) and only full payment of a class fee secures a space.
Refunds — The enrollment fee will be refunded in full if the class (all sessions) is canceled by the instructor (due to low enrollment or personal emergency). The enrollment fee also will be fully refunded if the student cancels class participation no later than 48 hours before the first session. Fees are not refundable in whole, or part, if students are absent from class, or portions of a class.
Our costs — Enrollment fees fund instructor time, all materials and kiln firing costs. Instructors are self-employed. They purchase most instructional materials for classes, rent Mud Hut studio time from the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office and pay a kiln firing fee. The Mud Hut is a non-profit educational program of the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office.
